Is Swordfish Academy the right fit for my child?
SFA is ideally suited to learners who are independent, and who want to think for themselves and progress at their own pace. Conversely, it also suits weaker students, who benefit from the small groups and one-on-one support from tutors. More individualistic students enjoy the flexibility and the non-judgemental and welcoming environment.
What benefits does Swordfish Academy offer over a traditional model school?
- One-on-one tutoring
- Opportunity to further explore ideas that interest the student
- Promotes independent study and thought
- Flexibility to work at your own pace
- Small classes are much calmer and quieter than big, noisy groups
- Significantly fewer discipline problems, making for a more peaceful, pleasant working environment
- Children don’t get ‘lost in the crowd’; each student is an individual
- Parents can communicate with teachers more freely
- Students can learn in a way that suits each child best: watch a video lesson, read a textbook or articles, talk directly with a teacher and discuss the work
- Close-knit friendships
- Good relationships between students and tutors, who get to know each other as individuals
- The option to make notes and submit homework electronically rather than on paper
- While there is a dress code, there is no prescribed uniform; students can express their individuality more and wear comfortable clothing.
